Peter D'Amato is a well-known carnivorous plant grower who has over thirty years experience in the field. His nursery, California Carnivores, houses the world's largest collection of carnivorous plants. In 1998, D'Amato published his first and only book, The Savage Garden (Ten Speed Press), which has proved to be very popular with both professionals and enthusiasts and is perhaps the most widely read book on the subject.
