Peter Catalanotto is an US-american book illustrator. Educated at the Pratt Institute, Peter's career as an illustrator began in the 1980's, painting jackets for young adult books, and illustrating for newspapers and magazines. In 1987 he was asked to illustrate All I See by Cynthia Rylant. Peter then went on to write several picture books, the first being Dylan's Day Out (now back in print, published by Southpaw Books) the not so black and white adventure of a dalmatian, Emily's Art, The Painter, Mr. Mumble, Matthew A.B.C. He has also illustrated many books including Mother to Tigers written by George Ella Lyon and An Angel for Solomon Singer by Cynthia Rylant.

Emily's Art draws on his personal experiences with the competitive nature of modern society. The book is beautifully illustrated and gives the reader a glimpse into the mind of a man who sees life differently. Peter has published 32 books for children.
