Peter Budaj, #31 (born September 18, 1982 in Banská Bystrica, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey goaltender currently with the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL.

Peter Budaj was drafted by the Avalanche in the 2001 Draft as the first pick for the Avalanche and 63rd overall. He wears number 31 for the Colorado Avalanche and is now playing in his second season in the NHL (2006-07). Prior to this, he played for the Hershey Bears of the AHL and the St. Michael's Majors of the OHL. He catches with his left hand, weighs 200 lb and stands at 6 ft 1 in.

Peter Budaj is a devout Christian, often crossing himself after victories before greeting his teammates. He is also known to have a well-muscled Ned Flanders holding the Slovakian flag painted on the back of his goalie helmet.
