Peter Bergen

Peter Bergen (born December 12, 1962) is a print and television journalist and author who appears as a terrorism analyst on CNN. Bergen is known for conducting the first television interview with Osama Bin Laden in 1997. He has written several books on terrorism, including Holy War, Inc. and The Osama bin Laden I Know (ISBN 0-7432-7892-5).

Peter Bergen was born in Minneapolis and raised in London. In 1984, he received a B.A in Modern History from the New College, Oxford.

Bergen first worked for ABC, and then for CNN.[1]
In August of 2006, CNN published an article about Bergen's denial of a CIA / Bin Laden connection.[2]
Bergen is Adjunct Professor in South Asia Studies at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation.[1]
He has received numerous honors for his journalism including the Edward R. Murrow Award in 1994.[1]
