Pete Boone is the Director of Athletics for the Ole Miss Rebels and a former president of Sunburst Bank. He is a 1972 graduate of the University of Mississippi and a native of Grenada, Mississippi.

Boone is in his second tenure of Director of Athletics, having served previously from 1995 to 1998. He is responsible for the firing of head football coach David Cutcliffe in 2004. Boone requested that Cutcliffe fire several assistants. Cutcliffe refused and was terminated. After courting San Francisco 49ers head football coach Dennis Erickson, Boone hired Ed Orgeron, the assistant head football coach at Southern California, to replace Cutcliffe.
