Petäjävesi

Petäjävesi is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 3,691 (2003) and covers an area of 495.55 km² of which 37.59 km² is water. The population density is 8.1 inhabitants per km².
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
The Petäjävesi Old Church is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Karikkoselkä impact crater is located southeast of the municipal centre.
