Portrait of Peter Minuit, the Director-General of the Dutch colony of New Netherland from 1626 until 1631 and founder of the Swedish colony of New Sweden in 1638. The portrait shows period clothing, with a white feather wrapped around the hat. The image is retouched from an oval image, padding the corners and lightening the face.
