Peseshet was the earliest known female physician credited to ancient Egypt at the time at the Fourth Dynasty. Her title was "lady overseer of the lady physicians." She graduated midwives at an ancient Egyptian medical school in Sais. Temples were erected and the physicians were worshipped.
