[edit] No claim of notability?

Isn't chief examiner for CAPE and a Fulbright award an assertion of notability? Guettarda 13:18, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

With 250,000 people having received a Fulbright Scholarship I should say that we can rule that out as a claim of notability. As far as chief examiner for an exam council, I'm not so sure. I tried reviewing Wikipedia:Notability (people) and Wikipedia:Notability (academics), but I can't really see how this person would be notable. The way I suppose they could claim notability was the following:
"The person made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in their specific field"
Is it possible to get sources to point to anything that would make this apparent? Is there some other way this person fulfills Wikipedia:Notability (people)? Sparsefarce 17:38, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Winning a Fulbright is still an assertion of notability - it isn't trivial to get a Fulbright award. As for the CAPE thing - it's recognition of being a leading figure in your field. CAPE is a revolutionary change, so anyone involved is making a contribution which is changing education in the Caribbean. I don't know how Mohan is exacly involved, but it's a pretty big assertion of national and international notability. Guettarda 18:33, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Considering that the prod tag was removed[1], this belongs at AfD and not on prod--see WP:PROD#Conflicts. NickelShoe (Talk) 04:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, it was prod'd when it was a one-line stub; it was reasonable to remove the prod tag once it was expanded to something substantial. Guettarda 14:03, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
It's the re-adding of the prod tag that's improper, not the removing of it. NickelShoe (Talk) 16:01, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
