Perboewatan (apparently a Malay word of uncertain dervivation)... Could it dutch spelling? If it is then we could see [1].Aditthegrat 16:20, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's my guess that the '-boewatan' spelling is probably Dutch. The '-buatan' is more likely to be closer to the original. I asked in one of the newsgroups several years ago about the word, assuming it was Dutch, and the only response I got was a reference to a Malay word. Unfortunately, the newsgroup has apparently purged their archive- at least I couldn't find the thread when I looked for it several months ago. I used the term 'uncertain derivation' to indicate that I didn't know what the origin was; as opposed to 'unknown' which would imply that it is not known to anyone. CFLeon 23:26, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
