Peruvayal is the largest village in Calicut district in Kerala, India. This village is surrounded by Mavoor, Kunnamangalam, Calicut corporation, Olavanna. The Chaliyar river forms one of the borders of Peruvayal. The headquarters is also called peruvayal and is 15 KMs from the Calicut City.

As the name suggest it is the "largest paddy field" ('peru' means plenty and 'vayal' means paddy field in Malayalam).

Plenty of paddy fields are present through out the village. Number of small hills are also present. The Hill 'Ponpara' is known for its Iron ore content and water storage. Number of Ponds provides surplus of water for the farmers.

Peruvayal is famous for its religious harmony. In all major places Temple, Mosque and Church are situated very nearby. Arts and sports clubs drives the cultural aspirations of people. Drama, Oppana etc. are the well performed by the people over here. Cherukulathur Public Library has been source of inspiration for the readers for more than two decades.

The district has a generally humid climate with a very hot season extending from March to May. The most important rainy season is during the South West Monsoon, which sets in the first week of June and extends up to September. The North East Monsoon extends from the second half of October through November. The average annual rainfall is 3266 mm. The best weather is found towards the end of the year, in December and January—the skies are clear, and the air is crisp.

Ponpara: A small hill near to the Peruvayal town with lots of cashew plantations. If you can get to the top of the hill you will get a fascinating bird's eye view of the entire village.

Kavanakallu Regulator Cum Bridge: A good place to spent your evenings and also you will get good fresh water fishes like Karimeen. Location : 17 Km From Calicut City. Bus : Calicut -- Edavannapara.
