Persipura Jayapura (acronym for Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jayapura) is an West Papuan football club located in Jayapura, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
Persipura Jaypura is made up of mostly players of Melanesian origin hence the nickname The Black Pearls or Mutiara Hitam in Indonesian. Persipura is considered as one of the elite football clubs in Indonesia having won the Indonesian league twice in 1976 and 2005.
