Peringottukurissi

Peringottukurissi is a small village in Palakkad district of Kerala state, south India. It is under Alathur Taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala state, India.
There are many sites to be seen in this village. The Choolanur Peacock Sanctuary situated about 30 kms away from Palakkad town, is the only one of it's kind in Kerala. Spread over approximately 500 hectares of reserve forest in Peringottukurissi Panchayat and Malesamangalam in Trichur district. This village far away from fast city life is an ideal place for rejuvenating one's mind and body. This village is easily accessible through NH 47.

A government Higher Secondary School functions in Peringottukurissi. This school was established in 1962. There are 10 lower primary schools in this panchayath. 96% of people are literate in this village.
More than 50% percent of the people in this village are engaged in agriculture.

Mannathu kavu is the famous temple in Peringottukurissi. The famous festival of this temple is "Karthika Vilakku". It is held during mid-December every year. Another famous temple in peringottukurissi is Charamkulangara Bhagavathi temple. The most famous festival of this temple is Vishu Vela (Festival is also known as vela in palakkad district).
