Per Ciljan Skjelbred (born June 16, 1987) is a Norwegian footballer (midfielder) who currently plays for Rosenborg B.K.

Skjelbred started his career at local football club Trygg/Lade. He made an impression, and was selected to compete in a football talent competition entitled Proffdrømmen on Norwegian TV3. Skjelbred won this competition and its first prize, a week's training with Liverpool F.C.[1] He was offered a junior contract with the club, but declined. Instead, he went to the Norwegian club Rosenborg B.K., where he soon made an impression. Skjelbred has been capped for the Norwegian under-16, 17, 18, 19, 21, and the senior national teams.

On May 22, 2005, Skjelbred became the youngest player in the Norwegian Tippeligaen to receive a red card, against Molde F.K.

After scoring a goal in the first match of the 2005 Champions League against Olympiacos, he was tackled in the return match at Lerkendal on November 23 by Ieroklis Stoltidis. Both bones in Skjelbred's lower leg snapped just above the ankle. Although he went in with both legs and had no chance of getting the ball, Stoltidis said he had not meant to harm Skjelbred.[2] Skjelbred returned to football March 10, 2006 in Rosenborg B.K.'s match against Aalesunds Fotballklubb, playing the first half of the match which Rosenborg B.K. won 5-1.

Skjelbred also attends the football academy at KVT in Tiller.
