[edit] History
A part of the Earth Help Center, Peorth seems to be a rival of Belldandy, both for Keiichi and for other goddess qualifications. Peorth is also a Goddess First-class, Second Category, Unlimited, much like Belldandy, although her role seems to be different. In the movie, she is a system administrator for Yggdrasil.
For a time, Peorth harboured a deep resentment towards Belldandy because of an incident that occurred while both were debugging Yggdrasil. A bug invaded Peorth's body, but Belldandy was able to eliminate it. However, Belldandy reported the removal of the bug as a team-effort instead of an individual effort; this was a huge blow to Peorth's pride as she believed that Belldandy was pitying her, when in truth, Belldandy would not have been able to isolate the bug had it not invaded Peorth's body. However, after the misunderstanding is cleared up, Peorth remarks that she doesn't hate Belldandy anymore, and in recent appearances the two seem to be on friendly terms once again.
Peorth also seems to annoy Urd and Skuld to no end, but she has a soft spot for Keiichi and may even harbor some degree of affections for him. Her magic is based on the element of Earth, and indeed her angel is Gorgeous Rose. Her transportation link is a camera lens. At certain times, Peorth may speak a bit of French (This was done in the English translation -she speaks highbrow Japanese in the original manga).
Her name is derived from the original Old Norse Rune Peorth or Peorð, which has (fairly vaguely defined) associations with 'Secret', 'Mystery' and / or 'Dice Cup' or 'Apple Tree'. The rune itself can be sometimes visible on the mark on her forehead when she casts a spell.
[edit] Personality
Peorth is always cool and confident, even when faced with difficult situations. Her only emotional confrontation seems to be during her first appearance in chapter 66, where her determined and one-minded nature seems to be occupied by trying to fulfill "Keichi's heart's desire". This drive, though, is still controlled by a calm forefront, as she exhibits the intelligent process of constructing an elaborate plan.
Peorth also remains confident in her skills, though, and eagerly engages in situations that would be considered immature for her age, going so far as to present herself as arrogant. Finally, she is very business-like and serious when it concerns matters of great importance. She knows how to present herself in an upright, opinionated manner, and never allows external conflicts to get in the way.
