People's Education Society Institute of Technology (PESIT) is a well known engineering college in Karnataka, India under the VTU (Visveswaraiah Technological University).

[edit] The College
PESIT is located in Bangalore. The campus is located 10 km from the City Railway Station, on the Ring Road, Banashankari 3rd Stage and can be approached via Mysore Road. The college consists of four major blocks : The Administrative Building, Tech Park, the Electronics Block and the Mechanical Block. A new college block, PES Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS), a 10 storeyed building is under construction and scheduled to be completed by the end of 2007.
PESIT is one of the highest ranked private colleges in Karnataka, as reflected in:
- The NASSCOM-Dataquest of July 2006 where it stands # 1 in the state of Karnataka and is ranked # 23 in the country [1].
- The Outlook magazine survey of July 2006 placed the college at # 52 in the country, and second in the VTU [2]
The college admits students from all over India through the Common Entrance Test and COMED-K entrance tests.

PESIT has currently over 35 Doctorates On-Campus in varied fields of specialisation in the engineering departments. Various Research Fields include Image Processing, Fuzzy Logic, Unstructured Data Management, Embedded Systems, VLSI Design, Computer Simulation, Networking And Mobile Applications, Knowledge Management. The Departments have also signed MoUs with companies like HP, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Global Edge Systems in pursuing the research activities. PESIT is heading towards becoming a fast and credible R&D and a Consultancy hub.

PESIT has a strong, lively alumni association that extends across the globe. This thriving alumni network brings great value to everyone associated with PES - from spreading awareness and recognition of the PES brand to creating opportunities for and guiding current students. The PESIT Alumni, today, are highly respected and hold high positions in the Industry and some of them have done/are pursuing their Masters and Doctorates at some of the high-ranked institutes like Carnegie Mellon, UCBerkeley ,UT Austin, USC and other highly ranked universities in the USA, and IIMs,IITs and the IISc in India.

The PESIT cultural team is called Nupur. The cultural team organizes special events like
- Freshers' day: The seniors give the freshers a warm welcome
- Celesta: The college cultural day
- Aatmatrisha: The inter-collegiate techno-cultural fest, etc.
Many groups have been nurtured by the cultural team of which, the following are prominent:
- Phenom, a rock band, had its incubating times in PESIT and is now a well known band in the local circuit.
- Black Earth, a western band, who have released their 1st album, "Hallucination Theory".
- Pulse is a dance team of 7 members belonging to various disciplines of BE. This team was formed in 2006. In its first year itself, Pulse has won 9 intercollegiates.
- Sanskruthi is a troupe of 8 dancers. Formed in 2005, Sanskruthi is considered to be one the best contemporary Dance team (Engineering Level) in Bangalore. Last year, Sanskruthi has bagged 9 first prizes in intercollegiates all over Bangalore. Recently they bagged the first place in the national level intercollegiate fest organised by IIT Kanpur and BMC. Sanskruthi is famous in corporate world for the quality performances for corporate events.
- Full Dhool was one of the successful madads team of PESIT .
- Complete Chaos is the current theatre team in the college. Complete Chaos formed in 2004, and in a span of just two years, Complete Chaos has won over 30 prizes in performances ranging from mad-ads to street-plays and skits. Complete Chaos has also performed "The Race of Life", a street-play, at the Ranga Shankara.
- Paradhwani, an Indian music band, has been a very successful Indian music band in the city.. Havin won a number of events, across the state, they are now concentrating on coming up with an album..

The college has indoor facilities for Basketball and Badminton. A match standard cricket ground is situated right next to the Tech Park. Other facilities include a volleyball court,football ground, a tennis court, table tennis, carrom and chess rooms. Gym facilities are also provided.
