From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

People with glioblastoma multiforme are cancer patients with a terminal cancer of the brain. Glioblastoma multiforme is the most agressive form of brain cancer. Typically the only symptom at onset are headaches, but after a relatively short time larger complications can occur, such as seizures, blackouts, personality changes, loss of motor skills. Once discovered, the tumor is typically well developed due to the speed at which the tumor grows and the brain's ability to adapt to the tumor's invasion, hiding its presence. People with glioblastoma multiforme are then offered immediate surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation based on what their doctors deem to be in the patients best interest. From the moment of diagnosis, treatment is typically seen as a palliative measure. Due to the tumors precarious location innumerable other symptoms can develop including paralysis, loss of speech, severe headaches, and increased seizure activity.
