Penny to a Million was an American television game show (at the time more commonly called a "quiz show") that aired on ABC for five months in 1955, from May 4 to October 5 of that year. The program aired on Wednesday nights in primetime.
Hosted by Bill Goodwin, the unique feature of this quiz show was that a correct answer to the first question in the playoff round was worth one cent (penny), but that a correct answer to each question that followed doubled in value, so that a contestant could win as much as $10,000, or a million pennies. Contestants were drawn from the studio audience.
