Penny Cook

Penny Cook (born 13 July 1957) is an Australian actress. She graduated from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1978.

Cook first appeared in the 1970s Australian television soap The Restless Years. In her best-known roles, Cook played veterinarian Vicky Dean in the drama series A Country Practice from 1981 to 1985 and Dr. Elly Fielding in the Ten Network soap E Street from 1989 to 1991.

Cook was a presenter on the Australian travel show The Great Outdoors from 1992 to 1996 and she most recently appeared in the police drama Young Lions (2002).

Cook has also had a long involvement in the theatre, both as an actress and director. She has been involved in nearly 40 stage productions.

She has recently joined the Australian soap opera Neighbours in a two-month guest role, with a possibility of an extension. She will be playing Prue Brown, mother of Frazer Yeats (Ben Lawson), and Ringo Brown (Sam Clark). Her scenes will appear in Australia in June. [1]
