Pennsylvania Route 232 is a state highway located in southeastern Pennsylvania. The southern terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 1 and U.S. Route 13 in Philadelphia. The northern terminus is at Pennsylvania Route 32 in the borough of New Hope on the banks of the Delaware River.

[edit] Philadelphia
Pennsylvania Route 232 begins at Oxford Circle, where it intersects with Roosevelt Boulevard (US-1) in Northeast Philadelphia. Here the road is called Oxford Avenue. It follows the path of a former turnpike, named for the former township of Oxford (now a part of the city of Philadelphia,) and is an ordinary surface road with one or two lanes in each direction. PA-232 runs north through the Lawncrest and Fox Chase neighborhoods, intersecting Cottman Avenue (PA-73) and passing by the Fox Chase train station.
[edit] Montgomery County
Leaving Philadelphia, PA-232 turns northwest and crosses into Montgomery County in the borough of Rockledge. Here the name of the road changes to Huntingdon Pike. Leaving Rockledge, PA-232 turns north, then northeast as it passes through Abington Township. Holy Redeemer Hospital and several shopping centers are nearby.
Continuing to the northeast, PA-232 enters Lower Moreland. Here it passes the Bethayres trains station and crosses Old Welsh Road (Pennsylvania Route 63). The road then passes into Bryn Athyn, then back into Lower Moreland. In this area, the road is tree-lined, and the houses and businesses are more spread out than a typical suburb. The Bryn Athyn Cathedral is nearby, as is Bryn Athyn College.

PA-232 crosses County Line Road and passes over the Pennsylvania Turnpike as it enters Bucks County in Upper Southampton township. Here, the road is named Second Street Pike. It crosses Street Road (PA-132), a major thoroughfare, and continues to the north. The development here is denser, and there is a shopping center on the east side of the road.
Crossing Bristol Road, PA-232 turns northeast again and enters Northampton township. At Richboro, amid shopping centers on either side, Bustleton Pike merges into Second Street Pike and PA-232 continues due north. The road crosses the Neshaminy Creek and turns northeast in Wrightstown township. The land here is more rural, and farms may be seen along the side of the road. Turning north once more, PA-232 crosses Durham Road (PA-413). Now signed as Windy Bush Road, it enters Upper Makefield township after about a mile, then passes into Solebury township. The road finally enters the town of New Hope and terminates at a junction with Main Street (PA-32).
