Penalva do Castelo (pron. IPA: [:pɨ'naɫvɐ du kɐʃ'tɛlu]) is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 134.2 km² and a total population of 8,768 inhabitants.

The municipality is composed of 13 parishes and is located in the district Viseu.

The present mayor is Leonídio Gomes Monteiro, elected by a coalition between the Social Democratic Party and the People's Party.

The municipal holiday is August 25.
