Pemulwuy, New South Wales

Pemulwuy is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the City of Holroyd local government area. It is relatively new (construction started in 2004), being built on the site of an old Boral quarry. It is located between Prospect Hill and Greystanes, approximately 30kms West of Sydney CBD.
The suburb is named after the Aboriginal warrior, Pemulwuy who lead attacks on the British troops in the surrounding areas, particularly on the Toongabbie settlement.
Street names in the suburb include Watkin Tench Parade named after Captain Watkin Tench who first saw the Blue Mountains when he stood atop Prospect Hill in 1789.
