Pemberton is a Borough in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 1,210.
Pemberton was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on December 15, 1826, within portions of New Hanover Township and Northampton Township (now known as Mount Holly Township). Pemberton became an independent borough c. 1894.[1]

Pemberton is located at GR1.
(39.970320, -74.683368)According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (3.28%) is water.
Pemberton is an independent municipality within the boundaries of Pemberton Township.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,210 people, 470 households, and 316 families residing in the borough. The population density was 791.8/km² (2,034.5/mi²). There were 513 housing units at an average density of 335.7/km² (862.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 78.43% White, 12.73% African American, 0.66% Native American, 2.40% Asian, 2.73% from other races, and 3.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.60% of the population.
There were 470 households out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.7% were married couples living together, 15.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.6% were non-families. 26.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the borough the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 34.7% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.6 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $44,063, and the median income for a family was $48,500. Males had a median income of $34,911 versus $25,474 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $18,909. About 7.2% of families and 7.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.4% of those under age 18 and 1.0% of those age 65 or over.

The Mayor of Pemberton Borough is F. Lyman Simpkins.[4] Members of the Pemberton Council are William Emmons, William Kochersperger, Robin Mosher, Stacy Stockton and William Wilson.[5]

Pemberton is in the Third Congressional District and is part of New Jersey's 8th Legislative District.[6]
New Jersey's Third Congressional District, covering portions of Burlington County, Camden County and Ocean County, is represented by Jim Saxton (R, Mount Holly). New Jersey is represented in the Senate by Frank Lautenberg (D, Cliffside Park) and Bob Menendez (D, Hoboken).
The 8th legislative district of the New Jersey Legislature is represented in the State Senate by Martha W. Bark (R, Mount Laurel) and in the Assembly by Francis L. Bodine (D, Mount Laurel) and Larry Chatzidakis (R, Mount Laurel). The Governor of New Jersey is Jon Corzine (D, Hoboken).
Burlington County is governed by a five-member Board of Chosen Freeholders. Burlington County's Freeholders are Freeholder Director James K. Wujcik, Deputy Freeholder Director William S. Haines, Jr., Dawn Marie Addiego, Vincent R. Farias and Aubrey A. Fenton.

The Pemberton Borough School serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
For grades 9-12, students attend Pemberton Township High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Pemberton Township School District.
