Pello

Pello is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Lapland and is part of the Lapland region. The municipality has a population of 4,586 (2003) and covers an area of 1,865.64 km² of which 122.87 km² is water. The population density is 2.6 inhabitants per km².
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Pello is also the name of a village in Sweden, on the opposite side of the Torne River in Övertorneå Municipality. 185 inhabitants (2000).
