Pekeapoo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Pekeapoo (or, sometimes, Peekapoo) is a crossbred dog created by breeding a purebreed Poodle with a purebreed Pekingese. In addition to being a combination of the two breed names, the name is probably a pun on Peekaboo (a game for amusing a small child, in which one covers one's face or hides and then returns to view saying “Peekaboo!”)
They are small for dogs, weighing from 6 to 20 pounds.
Similar to Poodle, Pekeapoos have a non-shedding coat and carry little dander, although on occasion there can be loose fur. This makes them ideal pets for people with allergies.
They also have a reputation for being playful, sweet, and very good with children.
Due to the mixed nature of their breeding, Pekeapoos have few defining characteristics.

[edit] Appearance
Peekapoos are usually white, grey, or a more common creme color. However, they have been seen brown. The texture of the coat is usually a very soft, cotton like fur. As mentioned above, they are small dogs ranging from 9 to 20 pounds.
[edit] Health Care
Peekapoos are fairly low maintnence. There are few health problems associated with Peekapoos. One health problem, however is breathing. It is not uncommon for a peekapoo to experience a spell of breathing difficulty every now and then. As long as their gums and tongue are not a blue shade, then there is no need to take the dog to the veternarian, unless this is a chronic problem. The other problem associated with a peekapoo is tearing of the eyes. Though tear stains seem inevitable, it can become a serious problem if the eyes become swollen or the tear stains are too dark of a color. Light, peach colored tear stains are nothing to worry about unless they become a dark purple/ red color. If this problem occurs, you can simply get eyedrops for your dog. Dental problems are also common for Pekeapoos. In many cases it is hard for the animal to eat, as the teeth don't meet up in a nice way to help with the chewing of the food that they eat.
With a well-balanced diet and annual vet visits, Pekeapoos have a life expectancy of 12-16 years.
[edit] Grooming
A peekapoo's fur should be kept short, as their fur becomes matted in a dreadlock very easily. In addition, this prevents tear stains from becoming a problem. Long hair should not be a problem, however, as long as the dog's fur is brushed once or twice daily. Short or long, though, the fur should be brushed at least once every two days.
There is a whiting wipes for the eyes . And also Whitner shampoo for the white peekapoo's. You can also use tearless baby shampoo if the dog shampoo would happen to irritate your dogs eyes. Or you can get the medicated film eye drops from your vet.
