Hi Pejman, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's a few links you might find useful:

Now down to business. Regarding Hayedeh, I removed your reference because it's not a reference that anyone else can check. Please see Talk:Hayedeh for more on this. Leave me a message there or on my talk page if you have more questions. Fernando Rizo T/C 20:05, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hayedeh

I've responded to your question on on my talk page. Cheers, Fernando Rizo T/C 20:15, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

  • Pejman, I can see that you really love Hayedeh, but you need to be more objective in the article about her. The introduction should call her a singer, not a "legendary diva". In its current state, it does not have a neutral point of view, which is of supreme importance on Wikipedia. Note that the articles for Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James, both of whom could easily be called "legendary divas" refer to their subjects as "jazz singer" and "American R&B and gospel singer", respectively. I'm going to go through the article later tonight and tighten up the grammar and spelling, and I'll probably change the introduction to "singer" if you haven't already. Keep up the good work, Fernando Rizo T/C 18:05, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
Pejman, I've gone through the Hayedeh article and removed the non-neutral stuff myself. I did stick with your convention and used 'Persia' in place of 'Iran' throughout. I hope you'll find my new intro sentence a good compromise on emphasizing Hayedeh's notability without sacrificing NPOV. Let me know what you think. Fernando Rizo T/C 04:16, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
  • Pejman, I cleaned up the Hayedeh article a bit, let me know what you think. It more closely mirrors the guidlines in Wikipedia:Manual of Style now. Concerning the reference you supplied: I removed it because it couldn't be found on the IranDokht website you supplied. I did a search for articles written by you as well as a search for a specific article on Hayedeh, and turned up nothing. Maybe the article hasn't been posted yet? Until then, I've removed the reference. Cheers, friend Fernando Rizo T/C 03:15, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pejman_Akbarzadeh

I noticed that the article Pejman_Akbarzadeh, presumably about you and written by you, had been deleted. I can get it back if this was done against your wishes. The reason given for deletion was completely bogus, and it should have been discussed fully prior any decision on whether it should be deleted. Please let me know if you think it should be part of Wikipedia. The article does appear to be well written and to give some verifiable claims of notability. --Tony SidawayTalk 23:47, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Persian Gulf

I have reverted so many anons and others over the Persian Gulf who never state an argument that I'm getting sick. The intro to Persian Gulf is encylopedic and factual. Having a POV on the issue doesn't allow for it be ignored. Let's go over it:

TRUE: "Gulf Arabs often refer to the water body as the Arab or Arabian Gulf." TRUE: "The term is not used in English." TRUE: "It is not acknowledged by the United Nations."

There is nothing wrong with the intro. Marskell 20:31, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Tehran polic.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tehran polic.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Wikiacc (talk) 23:59, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem RE: Image:Kazemi.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kazemi.jpg. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law. We need you to specify two things on the image description page:

  • The copyright holder, and
  • The copyright status

The copyright holder is usually the creator. If the creator was paid to make this image, then their employer may be the copyright holder. If several people collaborated, then there may be more than one copyright holder. If you created this image, then you are the copyright holder.

Because of the large number of images on Wikipedia, we've sorted them using image copyright tags. Just find the right tag corresponding to the copyright status of this image, and paste it onto the image description page like this: {{TAGHERE}}.

There are 3 basic ways to licence an image on Wikipedia:

  • The copyright holder can also release their work into the public domain. See here for examples.
  • Images from certain sources are automatically released into the public domain. This is true for the United States, where the Wikimedia servers are located. (See here for images from the government of the USA and here for other governments.) However, not all governments release their work into the public domain. One exception is the UK (see here for images from the UK government). Non-free licence governments are listed here.
  • Also, in some cases, an image is copyrighted but allowed on Wikipedia because of fair use. To see a) if this image qualifies, and b) if so, how to tag it, see Wikipedia:Fair use.

For more information, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Please remember that untagged images are likely to be deleted.

If you have uploaded other images without including copyright tags, please go back and tag them. Also, please tag all images that you upload in the future.

If you have any questions, just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks again. --SCEhardT 04:09, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Also, please check all the other images you have uploaded (a list is here). Thanks! -SCEhardT 04:11, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Zamaneh.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Zamaneh.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:09, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
