Pegguy Arphexad (born 18 May 1973, Abymes, Guadaloupe) is a former goalkeeper of Liverpool Football Club. Arphexad began in French League with Lens before moving to the Premiership in August 1997. An excellent shot stopper, he gained a reputation as a spot kick saving expert.
Arpexhad began his time in the Premiership with Leicester City. During Leicester's successful 1999/2000 Coca-cola Cup campaign he replace injured goalkeeper Tim Flowers and saved two crucial penalties in a penalty shootout. He earned his first ever Winners Medal as an unused substitue in the final. Arphexad played a big role in Liverpool's failure to qualify for the Champions League in 1999/2000. He produced an inspired performance to deny the Reds a much needed three points at Anfield in May 2000. His heroics that night clearly impressed Gérard Houllier, who moved swiftly to sign Arphexad on a free transfer under the Bosman ruling during the summer.
Arphexad won six medals with Liverpool, all as an unused substitute. These included three in Liverpool's treble winning 2000-01 season, where they won the FA Cup, the League Cup and the UEFA Cup. Two subsequent medals followed the following season as Liverpool claimed both the Charity Shield and the European Super Cup. He earned a second League Cup winners medal in the 2002-03 season. He was released by Liverpool that summer, later having spells with Coventry City and Notts County.
