Peg Productions

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peg Productions a production company that was founded in the early 1990's as an umbrella organization by two brothers and a friend of theirs. They put their avant garde and eclectic skills together for just under a decade.

P..E..G.. stood for Paul, Eric, Greg. Paul, Eric and Greg were the founders. Paul worked on the business side while Eric and Greg were on the creative side. Paul and Greg were both good friends of the musician Jon Finn, Greg having even played with him.

They created the Pegumentary which was their own style of documentary. Other Peg developments were the Duncan O Hats distributed by Peg Products, several movies, including The Deserter and a book of poetry, Sequence: the Cavalcade of GED which is still being sold.

Some of their other products included Hefty-Weight furniture for large people and disposable art.

In-fighting among the three of them led to the downfall of Peg Produtions. Greg at one point accused the brothers of collusion against him and demanded that the name be changed to GEP. Later, a dispute as to the rights of ownership for several of the properties caused a major rift. Eric was voted out of the company and took several of his projects with him including two of his movies which he released under his own company's name.

The end of Peg Productions happened when Paul and Greg split up under threat by Eric that he would sue saying that the "E" stood for his name. The two tried P & G Productions for a short while but the magic was gone.
