Pedro Rosa Nales

Pedro Rosa Nales was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and started working at radio station WMDD at Fajardo when he was just 13. As a journalist he has received over 200 awards and is a recognized martial artist.
He served in the United States Army as a parachuter from the 82nd Airborne Division, in the 10th Special Forces Group (Green Berets) and the 101st Air Assault Division. He was press officer, executive officer and unit commander in the National Guard. He graduated with the rank of captain.
As a TV journalist, he was recruited by the WAPA TV channel 4 of San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1981, becoming the first black Puerto Rican working as a TV reporter. During his 24 years as a TV journalist he had won more than 200 awards from several organizations in Puerto Rico and the United States, including awards for the coverage of hurricanes and investigative reports like Red Alert 1 and 2 on which he uncovered the military use of the Vieques island and the effects of army maneuvers on the population, also an incident with a nuclear bomb which fell in waters near the island on 1966 which USA government had kept in secret for 34 years. He is the only reporter that ever got to the remains of the plane crash where baseball star Roberto Clemente died at 180 ft under the Atlantic Ocean around the beaches of San Juan. In the past years, he has worked as a host on two editions of Noticentro 4.
Rosa Nales is also a martial artist in the styles of Ju Jitsu and Karate Kobudo and obtained the rank of Black Belt, First Degree in both styles. He's a direct student of Grand Master, Soke, Jedan Figueroa, and has also a special relationship with Grand Master, Soke, Carlos Díaz. He has been inducted to the Martial Arts Hall of Fame and to the Hall of Honor and Champions during 2005 and is competing for the "Outstanding Martial Arts Instructor of Honor Award" and the "International Achievements Award" by 2 international martial arts organizations.
