Pedro Flores (inventor)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pedro Flores was an immigrant to the United States from the Philippines. Pedro made his first yo-yo in 1923 based on a design he had from the Philippines. Later in 1928 Pedro opened a yo-yo factory in Santa Barbara, California. The yo-yo craze officially begins, fueled by contest promotions from Mr. Flores. Flores sold his factory to Donald Duncan in 1930 and went to work for Duncan as head of promotions for the new Duncan Yo-Yo Company.
