Talk:Pectus carinatum

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Modified what I believe was a simple mistake - article listed Pectus Excavatum where I believe it meant to use Pectus Carinatum (the last such reference in the article).

Non-surgical treatment of Pectus Carinatum with a chest brace has shown excellent results for this predominately benign, cosmetic condition.

[edit] benign?

you say it is a predominately benign condition... yet it is known to lead to emphysema, and almost always causes restrictions in the sufferer's ability to inhale and exhale effectively by restricting expansion and reduction of chest cavity volume, espeically during physical activity. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mikeb147 (talk • contribs).

[edit] psychological effects

I'm not sure if there would be enough information on the psychological effects of pectus carinatum, however it is a very important issue to be covered in any obvious deformity. One doctor's work in particular could be used as source material for this (arnold leonard). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mikeb147 (talk • contribs).
