"Peace? Off!" is the tenth episode of the 2006 British Robin Hood television series, made by Tiger Aspect Productions for BBC One. It aired on Saturday December 9, 2006 at 6:55 pm. Its title is a quote from the episode, a pun on the British exclamation piss off.
[edit] Plot
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
A madman is terrorising villagers by setting fire to churches. But instead of dealing with him, Robin rescues the man and takes him to the forest. The man is a veteran of King Richard's war in the Holy Land and is suffering what we now know as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Meanwhile Sheriff Vasey has a guest, a middle eastern prince who is here to broker peace, and awaiting the Prince at Nottingham castle.
Spoilers end here.
[edit] Trivia
- The contrast between Saladin's continuation of the war and Prince Malik's attempted peace deal may be a reference to the modern split between 'radical' and 'moderate' Muslims as perceived in the West.
- In a curious anachronism, the veteran of the war in the Holy Land wears modern US Army desert camouflage trousers throughout the episode.
