Pe (П, п) (formerly referred to by the mnemonic name pokoy) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet, representing the consonant /p/ unless followed by a palatalizing vowel when it represents /pʲ/. It arose directly from the Greek letter Pi (Π, π). The shape of capital printed Pe can be described as a square with the bottom line missing, not to be confused with El (Cyrillic), which has a curved left. A capital Pe looks exactly like the Greek capital Pi, and small Pe looks like a smaller version of the same.
