Some photos that I've found at Airtanker.com suggest to me that this is not a Navy testing paint scheme, but a civilian fire bomber/airtanker paint scheme. Fernando Rizo T/C 00:07, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

You're absolutely right, it's civilian. There's no nose turret, no fuselage blisters, and - most glaringly - a civilian N-number. It's the exact same aircraft that's pictured in the slurry-drop photo at the end of the PBY article. -eric ✈ 00:12, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
