PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch was a three-hour Saturday morning lineup of shows produced by Nelvana and based on the popular children's books Corduroy, George Shrinks, Elliot Moose, Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse, Seven Little Monsters, and Timothy Goes to School. The block aired on September 30, 2000. PBS Kids started the Bookworm Bunch to compete against Nick Jr on CBS. After airing for one season, it was cut to two hours, with Corduroy and Elliot Moose being cancelled. PBS Kids closed the book on the Bookworm Bunch in 2002, and it was discontinued in September 2004, making way for Thomas and Friends and new shows scheduled to air for October.

Seven Little Monsters and George Shrinks were the only shows that survived after the close of Bookworm Bunch. However, Seven Little Monsters were discontinued in 2004, but George Shrinks was the only show survived.

In this schedule block, the person, either Dash or Dot, presses a button. The machine hand grabs a book and drops in the TV machine, and content from the upcoming show appears. Then it opens the book to see the green circle with the show title and the main character.

There's also a version with a "NEXT" text screen on the conveyor belt which drops into the pipe to the TV machine.
