Pay Me My Money Down
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Originally a protest song from Georgia and South Carolina, Pay Me My Money Down was the first single and video released from Bruce Springsteen's fourteenth studio album, We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions. The song originated from black stevedores, who were often left unpaid by some ship captains.[1]
This song is one of the most popular played on Springsteen's Bruce Springsteen with The Seeger Sessions Band Tour.
