6/10/05. Here I am, a blatant newcomer to the World of Wiki. Let's see if that link works. Anyway, I see a missing article or two on the horizon and much editing required, so... Later.

9/10/05. After some extended browsing I can see how Wikipedia can easily become an engrossing hobby or even an obsession. It has all the elements that make things like BBSing, IRC, Forum whoring and Usenet such addictive pastimes. Like all of those, Wiki has its share of addicts, conflicts, comedies and tragedies

Personally, I have been trying to decide how I would like to contribute to Wikipedia. Initially, I thought I would cruise magisterially around making minor and major edits - as this is a job that I have been paid to do in Real Life™.

However, when I wandered over to some topics where I can claim some knowledge like Khmer Rouge or Pol Pot for example, I found them to be ideological battlegrounds – rather than informative articles. Since any addition or subtraction would only add fuel to the fire, I turned sadly away.

Therefore, I will make it my life’s work (this month?) to eradicate the horrid red links relating to obscure elements of Cambodian history…
