From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paxton is an Anglo-Saxon word derived from "gardiner".[1] As early as the sixth century, Saxons crossed from the European continent and settled in the UK. The family name Paxton seems to originate in England and Scotland around 1250 AD.[2] From there, the name later spread to America and many other places around the world. There are Paxton names of towns, last names, and also first names in use as well.
