Peter Welsch

I'm a DJ and information science Masters student living in Bloomington, Indiana. I'm married to another aspiriring information scientist named Sarah. We own a cat, four turtles, and a lot of books, movies, and records.

I used to post here under the name Dr.scientist. I've since decided to take Eric Raymond's advice and move away from handles as much as possible.

I have a BA in History from St. Mary's College of Maryland. While in school I co-founded a DJ collective called Otaku Soundsystem and worked extensively in the theater department. After graduation I worked for three years on the tech support staff of small Baltimore ISP. There I learned a bit about Unix and became interested in the open source movement and intellectual property issues. Until recently I worked in the Information Sevices Department (reference) at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. I'm now attending Indiana University's School of Library and Information Science. Lately I've been working as a lab counselor, cataloge prole, and XSLT tyro.
