Paws, Inc. was founded in 1981 by Jim Davis to support Garfield licensing. It is located in Indiana and has a staff of almost twenty artists and writers. In 1994, the company purchased all rights to the Garfield comic strips from 1978-1993 from United Feature Syndicate.
