Paweł Zagumny (born October 18, 1977 in Jasło, Poland) is a Polish volleyball player. He is also a son of Lech Zagumny, the coach of Polish volleyball club AZS Politechnika Warszawa. He is playing in volleyball club PZU AZS Olsztyn and also in Polish national volleyball team.

[edit] Volleyball clubes career

He career began in 1992 when 15-years-old Zagumny started to play in MKS MDK Warszawa volleyball juior club. His talent was quickly seen and in 1995 at age 18 he was transferred to professional team Czarni Radom, where he played for 2 years, to 1997. With Zagumny Czarni Radom club won Poland Championship in 1996 and got second place in 1997. Next, he played for Bosman Morze Szczecin for 3 years.

In 2000 he was transferred to Italian club Edilbasso Padua and he moved to Italy for 3 years. After he came back to Poland in 2003, he started to play in proffesional club PZU AZS Olsztyn.

In 1996, at the age of 19 he started to play for Polish junior national team that won european championship in the same year and 1997. He also played at 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA.

In 1998 at age 21 he started to play on the Polish national adult volleyball team. He was chosen for capitan of this team and he played in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

In 2006 he won prize and $50,000 for the best setter of FIVB World Championships in Japan.
