Paweł Kubisz

Paweł Kubisz (12 May 1907 in Końska, Austria-Hungary - 19 August 1968 in Český Těšín, Czechoslovakia) was a Polish journalist, columnist, poet and activist from Zaolzie.
As a poet he was mostly active in the interwar period. During World War II he was twice jailed by Nazis. After war, Kubisz was an active organizer of litarary and Polish community life in Zaolzie. He was one of the co-founders of PZKO and the first editor of Zwrot magazine. In 1959 he was fired from his position of editor of Zwrot and expelled from PZKO. He was falsely accused by Communists of "nationalist and individualist stance". He ended his life as a worker in Třinec Iron and Steel Works.
