[edit] still crazy, after all these years.. was it Paul and Simon or Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel or just Paul or just Art?

well how interesting, the tail waggers have all dissolved their user pages now that their surgical process is complete. And i'm still here. check out Ben Hana. I'm running a dual user here for some reason not entirely understood even by me. maybe i'll migrate here or maybe i'll stay where i started. schizophrenia? or is that bi-polar, or is it neither. every user here will make up their own mond, and it will typically be less than satisfactory, from my experience here. So we could say that wiki is character building, ie learn patience or f off.

It is indeed fortunate for me that there is a world outside of this space, that values me as a person; "Based on your participation in conferences, we would like to consult your opinion and your possible contribution regarding the idea of collecting, in a multiple-author book or symposium proceedings, reflections and knowledge regarding conferences organization and quality standards/means." Thanks for that, but no I dont think that I will be able to travel to the USA for this event, this time. Sometimes family is more important than establishing notability for the plebs that dont even know how to search and rate Google results. You can lead horses to water... here: search result here umm why is there 6.4M one day and 12.4M the next?

[edit] Individuality

... is where its at, and just to be different, lets have the latest comment at the top, whatever, do what you want, you will anyway, and i'm happy with that, pointless having any other POV in this space.Paul Moss 01:17, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] comments

1/ well here i am finally, its the real me this time...

A. my activity has altered since i came to this space: it started out as attemting to contribute useful things in several areas....

B. Its migrated to dealing with jerks that have discovered that they can wag the tail of the tiger, for their own very mean and ill considered emotional reasons...

the sheer fact that wiki is not the only source of information is its strength; a range of other web sources exist, including an absolute massive content of my own, and that in itself is notable, whatever you think from superficial checking. I check every day and have for 6 or 7 years, a range of search terms, and adjusted my behaviour in order to deliver my experiences to the greatest number of people possible. I log the visits to my sites and I see more people per month per site than the minimum number to ascribe notability.. and I havent even started on addressing that specific issue yet; notability.

YOU poor lost souls that think you have even the faintest idea of who you are and where you are going, and derive some wierd pleasure in such destructive behaviour! There is a veritable army of honest, well meaning editors that will ultimately win the battle, thats clear to any thinking person. I derive pleasure from fiddling as well but i have never been destructive, that sucks and is for people that need to get a life of their own.

Being bold and testing the limits, thinking outside the square, exercising patience and growing and an article slowly, doesnt mena that its fair game for surgeons... its pathetic to observe some of the behaviour here, the cool thing is that it cam exist!! I am fascinated by the co-existence of good and bad, but like so many people, cant be too bothered about wastage, if it gets too hard then I'll simply scale down my efforts.

I can be spoken with 24/7 on a worldwide number +64 21 440 443 its my business line, but i use it for aurora alerts, and there are not many of those this year!! I have many websites.. just pop my name into google and I top out many millions of results.. now thats notable but who really cares?

why would i even argue the point with morons? since when was notabilty ranked by humans with personality disorders? never..

To the authentic editors I say a BIG CONGRATULATIONS how amazing! ! to the tiny band of hackers and vandals i say why bother, its a false pleasure, get yourself some web space, there is plenty, and do your own thing. I must thank you both, for provoking a learning experience, that has some value.

If i have made 20,000 pages in 5 years, then I calculate that 500 editors could have put a 1 Million page wiki together in that time. Part time, and at several hours per page, thats a lot of person hours to respect.

feel free to comment anywhere you want on wiki... we all know you can... but for serious comment that isnt hackable, you could email me at mailto:paul.moss@paulmoss.org

And for those of you who think this is about wiki, it's not, it's about human behaviour, and I have achieved what i set out too; that took vision and extremely hard work, not emotional knee jerking..

finally - be careful, the tail that you are wagging can ultimately belong to the tiger that bites you!! one way or another its all symbolic, usually its your own bad behaviour that gets you in the end, representing the tiger. its clear that vandalism is always going to be a part of this process, that both enables, and disables this beast, yet another paradox to learn to co-exist with.

Its a shame that honesty and open-ness are not part of the plan for vandals, that they must make feeble attempts to hide behind themsleves. I have no need of such sham. I am proud of who I am and what I do. Paul Moss Paul Moss 01:21, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] cats in user page.

Paul, I have removed Category:New Zealand astronomers from you user page since this catagory is intended for articles not user pages. - SimonLyall 01:48, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your gallery

The layout of your User:Paul Moss/gallery page is suffering a bit with the lead pictures overlapping the "image matrix". You might insert <br clear=all> immediately before the Image Matrix header to force the matrix to come after the lead pictures. You have extraneous right square brackets in most of your captions.

The syntax for the image matrix may be much simpler if you use the Gallery tag. See Wikipedia:Picture_tutorial#New_MediaWiki_.3Cgallery.3E_tag.

I appreciate your pictures, and will be using some of them on the Portal:New Zealand page in the future.-gadfium 07:59, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
