[edit] Welcome
Hello, Paul Goldberg, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! [edit] Some hints
Hi. While all good contributions to the Wikipedia are much appreciated, it is generally frowned upon (but it's not a hard and fast rule) to write articles about yourself, especially if you may not pass some degree of notability. Please don't be upset if your first article is deleted, it happens to many first-time contributors who may be unaware of the long-standing guidelines. You tend to pick these up as you go along. If you want any help or advice on editing, feel free to drop me a message. Happy editing! Zunaid 10:12, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- Another hint: please try to make sure when editing that your edit does not revert or delete information that had previously been in the article (in this case, List of drummers), especially without leaving an explanation in your edit summary, because it could be interpreted as vandalism. Thanks. dfg 15:57, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vanity links
Please stop adding your name to lists; if you're notable, someone else will doubtless add you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:38, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
