[edit] Paul Levinson
Hi. Just so you know, it is generally frowned upon to edit your own page (assuming your are Mr. Levinson). See WP:AUTO. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 02:43, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- No prob. Also, please sign your comments on talk pages by typing 4 tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message. That will automatically insert your username and the date/time. Happy editing! --ZimZalaBim (talk) 02:52, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Again, please heed the advice on WP:AUTO, including:
- "If Wikipedia already has an article about you: It is difficult to write neutrally about yourself. Therefore, it is considered proper on Wikipedia to let others do the writing. Instead, contribute material or make suggestions on the article's talk page and let independent editors write it into the article itself."
- Thanks. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 12:24, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Bf-confectionsoflove.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bf-confectionsoflove.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Chomsky and politics
Publisher comments (for The Anti-Chomsky Reader by Peter Collier):
- Beginning with his criticism of the Vietnam War in the 1960s, MIT professor Noam Chomsky has become better known for his radical politics than for his theories of language. [1]
You may need this reference as a source for the claim that Chomsky has become better known for politics than linguistics. Cheers. --Uncle Ed 13:46, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks!PaulLev 17:09, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
There's a blog entry about Chomsky's propensity for misquotation here. He distorted Truman's statement about freedom and peace.
He made a similar distortion in his debate with William Bennett here:
- America is "the only state in the world that has been condemned by the World Court for international terrorism" (Bennett argues with him about this)
Without violating the guidelines on biography, I wonder what sort of criticisms of Chomsky's rhetorical style we can report. --Uncle Ed 14:48, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Rashkow, Greenwich, Cymbal.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Rashkow, Greenwich, Cymbal.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Chowbok 18:02, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jawbone Radio
I have deleted it as a failure of WP:CSD G4. Please wait until the DRV discussion runs its course before recreating the article. Thanks. Alphachimp 22:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Coincidentally, I did think your article was a substantial improvement over the old version. It's still in the database, so your work has not been destroyed. If you would like me to put a copy in your userspace, just let me know. Alphachimp 22:55, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
- Here you go. If you're successful in the DRV, it's quite easy to move the original version back to the target. I'd strongly encourage you to bring it into compliance with Wikipedia standards. I'll try to comment in the debate later tonight. Alphachimp 23:08, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Silver-Wondrous.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Silver-Wondrous.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MECU≈talk 22:37, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}.
