[edit] Professional Biography
Paul Lomax has been developing websites for nearly 10 years, and was formerly Managing Director of Max Internet Ltd, a web design, development and hosting company based in south Manchester. He now works as a publisher for IPC Media in their Connect (women's weeklies) division, working on a major digital development, and reporting directly to managing director Evelyn Webster. IPC Media is the UK's largest consumer magazine publisher and a wholly owned subsidiary of Time Warner.
Paul joined IPC Media in 2001 as senior solutions developer on the relaunch of ybw.com, and subsequently played a major role in the NME.com relaunch the following year. Following his appointment to Internet Technology manager in 2002, Paul formed IPC's web technology department in early 2003 with a team of just three people. The department is now over 30 strong with plans to expand to 60 by the end of 2007.
During his tenure brought open Source to IPC, involving himself in projects such as Symfony and PHP London, conceived the in-house content management system, launched around 50 new websites, developed numerous web-based applications for both internal and external use, and most recently has lead the major development of countrylife.co.uk, which will establish it as the premium property portal when it relaunches in February.
