With Team Green, Tracy returned to the Indianapolis 500 for the first time since 1995 and crossed the finish line first but race officials penalized him, dropping him back to second place after a late-race caution flag that appeared at nearly the same time he passed Helio Castroneves for the race lead.

 this wasnt a penality...it was a rule

[edit] Very early Penske Career?

I was awfully young at the time so my memory of this could be incorrect...but I distinctly remember at least one race (a road course, I believe) early in Tracy's career at Penske while they were fielding three cars, where Tracy's car was not done up in the standard Marlboro/Penske Orange and white. The paint layout was the same, but the main sponsor was Mobil 1, and the orange was replaced with Mobil blue. Is this just a screwed up memory, or did he actually run like that once?
