What is a shadow senator? As a Brit' I just don't udnerstand this term - we need some explanation and some more bio details please. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 08:24, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

A Shadow Senator is someone who does not actually hold any political power, but is there purely as a voice of the people. A Shadow Senator does not vote in the Senate but is allowed to state his opinion on the matter. Senator Strauss, and citizens of DC are currently campaigning to get an actual voting position- starting in the House. Check out the article on Shadow Senator that Wikipedia has, it is pretty good.
