Paul VI Catholic High School

Paul VI Catholic High School (otherwise known as PVI) is a private Catholic School located in Fairfax, VA at 10675 Fairfax Boulevard. It currently competes in the WCAC in a variety of sports. It has a high profile rivalry with Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School. Virginia "Ginny" Colwell is currently the "interim principal", but starting next year, she will be the official principal as announced by Dr. Timoth J. McNiff, Superintendent of Schools in the Diocese of Arlington.

Paul VI first opened its doors for the 1983-1984 school year, accepting freshman and sophomore students only. The school building had been purchased by the Diocese from George Mason University, and was in dilapidated condition. One wing of the building was unused for some years at first.

During its first years, the school was ministered by five Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, who also taught classes, and one of whom served as the Principal. The remainder of the faculty was made up of lay teachers. The team name "Panthers" was chosen by a schoolwide vote of students during the first year.
