Paul Tait (born in Sutton Coldfield, July 31, 1971) is an ex-professional footballer. A striker or midfielder, Tait was a boyhood fan of Birmingham City, and achieved his dream by signing professional terms with the club in 1988. He played for the Blues for eleven years, his most famous moment coming in the 1995 Auto Windscreens Shield final, when, after scoring the winner, he revealed a t-shirt reading "Shit on the Villa", aimed at City's rivals. He was heavily fined for the incident, which was echoed in the same fixture eleven years later, by Swansea City players.
Towards the end of his time at Birmingham, Tait had loan spells with Millwall and Northampton. He moved on to Oxford United in January 1999, where he spent two and a half years.
